The Research Unit Sustainability and Global Change (FNU), University of Hamburg and KlimaCampus, Germany, invites applications to the open

Doctoral Candidate Position in the area of risk-management. The position is allocated in the project The North Sea Observation and Assessment of Habitats†(NOAH), supported under the “Coastal Research Agenda for the North Sea and Baltic Sea†of the national Research for Sustainable Development Framework Programme (BMBF-FONA).

Main research tasks include the identification of threshold-type behavior or the welfare-economic evaluation of transgression of systemic thresholds. The successful candidate has a background in welfare economics, decision theory, time series analysis, or nonlinear systems theory. Support of the Research Unit’s numerical GAMS-environment would be appreciated. Proactive interdisciplinary engagement with the NOAH project cluster is expected.

The Research Unit Sustainability and Global Change is dedicated to sustainable environmental development. It is member of CEN, the University of Hamburg’s Center for Earth System Research & Sustainability, and affiliated with the Departments of Geosciences and Macroeconomics as well as the cluster of excellence CliSAP. We offer a position in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative research environment with excellent research infrastructure and support.

Salary and benefits are 65% TV-L E13, based on the Collective Agreement for the German Public Service Sector.
