Curtin University is offering scholarships for undergraduate students who are of Indigenous background or are from rural or remote locations and of low socio-economic backgrounds. This scholarship is available for pursuing undergraduate degree level in science/ICT or Engineering degree which includes elements of mathematics, statistics or computation at Curtin University in Australia. The scholarship covers approximately $4,000 per semester (based on a full time study load of 100 credit points each semester) to assist with costs associated with studying for the normal expected duration of the degree for which the scholarship is offered up to a maximum of 4 years.

Eligibility:
-Currently undertaking year 12 in 2013
-Have selected the Curtin University as a first preference through TISC to undertake an eligible undergraduate science or engineering degree in 2014
-Be undertaking the first semester of their first undergraduate degree at Curtin University in semester 1, 2014 at a Curtin University WA campus
-Be either from an Indigenous Australian background or from a rural or remote area and of low socio-economic background
-Be an Australian citizen, New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder or International student (preference will be given to Australian citizens or Australian Permanent Residents)
-Not currently hold another industry funded scholarship.

Scholarship Open for International Students: New Zealand, Australia and international students can apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Description: Curtin UniversityThe Science an Industry Endowment Fund (SIEF) is offered to students who are of Indigenous background or are from rural or remote locations and of low socio-economic backgrounds. Students must be undertaking a Science/ICT or Engineering degree which includes elements of mathematics, statistics or computation.

Number of award(s): One scholarships are offered.

Duration of award(s): Scholarships are offered for 4 years.

What does it cover? The scholarship will provide a cash payment of $4,000 per semester (based on a full time study load of 100 credit points each semester) to assist with costs associated with studying for the normal expected duration of the degree for which the scholarship is offered up to a maximum of 4 years.

Selection criteria: The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of need.

Notification: All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application via email in mid-January
